Korean Elevator Group GS E&C wishes to become a member of VNEA

On the morning of February 24th, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Elevator Association, the Association’s leaders welcomed and worked with the top manager of the Korean Elevator Group GS E&C in Vietnam. The representative from Korea expressed his wish to soon join the association, contributing to the development of the elevator system in Vietnam.

GS E&C is the largest multi-industry corporation in Korea with operations in 27 countries, 25 overseas companies or branches and 176 project areas. This corporation was voted 26th in the list of 250 largest global construction contractors in 2015. Continuously in an era, this group has entered the list with stable Down Jones number. The Korean government also honored this as a corporation in 2013… In 2019, GS E&C focused on three key industry groups, including elevators and investing in Vietnam.

Mr. Eum, Heung Jin, Senior Managers of VGSI – a subsidiary of GS E&C Group, said that elevators are a means of transport that directly affect people’s lives, so safety issues need to be addressed with special care. However, according to his assessment, there are many elevator companies in Vietnam that have not really paid attention to this issue. It is products that do not guarantee the necessary level of safety that threaten customers or the workers in the elevator industry. This problem can be attributed to policy “gaps” in this relatively new field in Vietnam. A representative of VGSI shared that it took Korea more than 20 years to establish a position in the elevator industry, which is famous for factors related to the safety of elevator products. He wishes to share his experience in management, production, and service provision with the Vietnamese elevator business community, improving product quality and safety features of this special industrial products

Chairman of Vietnam Elevator Association Nguyen Hai Duc welcomed the participation of the Group from Korea. He hoped that it was time for businesses both at home and abroad to come together to unify actions for the development of Vietnam’s elevator industry. In today’s flat world, instead of businesses considering each other as rivals, they should choose to shake hands to develop together. Every business or organization has its own strengths and values. If we can link those “links” together, we can create systematic sustainable development. Currently, the Vietnam Elevator Association is carrying out two main tasks, that is, standardizing the capacity of laborers in the elevator industry with occupational skill sets. At the same time, the Association works closely with state management agencies to advise and develop technical regulations and supervision mechanisms from the production of equipment and accessories to testing and installation, operation, maintenance, repair, etc… He also wishes that the Korean enterprise will immediately contribute experiences, knowledge, transfer of science and technology, auxiliary orders, … to Vietnamese businesses to cooperate and create great values for the community.
