Roles and tasks of Vietnam Elevator Association

According to incomplete statistics, Vietnam has about 500 enterprises in the field of elevators, 1,500 individuals and organizations related to elevators. These numbers will continue to increase in the near future

At that time, the challenge is who will implement the goal of ensuring fairness and harmonization of interests between businesses and consumers? Who will be the bridge between the regulator and businesses in the industry? The main solution is industry business associations, including Vietnam Elevator Association.

On September 8, 2020, the First Congress and the Launching Ceremony of the Vietnam Elevator Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association or VNEA) were held in Hanoi. VNEA was established under Decision 594/QD-BNV dated August 20, 2020 of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

VNEA is a socio-professional organization of citizens, a Vietnamese organization operating in the field of elevators, escalators or related to elevators and escalators in accordance with the law, voluntarily established and operating regularly, non-profit activities for the purpose of gathering and uniting members, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the Association and its members, helping and supporting each other to operate effectively, contributing to socio-economic development of the country.

With such a noble role and responsibility, the main thought when choosing members of the Association is to gather excellent businesses and individuals, to ensure transparency, to ensure prestige and to develop sustainably and long-lasting. From this guiding ideology, the Association's Executive Board soon issued a set of criteria and conditions for admission and selection of members. This set of criteria is included in the Regulations on Membership of the Vietnam Elevator Association (Regulation), which has been unanimously approved by the Association's Executive Board under Decision No. 02/QD-VNEA dated January 11, 2021. A set of criteria such as a "filter" to ensure the recruitment of members of the Association who have a heart, vision, transparent and effective operation, for sustainable and long-term development, for the benefit of the Association's businesses, elevator industry and consumers…

Criteria and conditions for membership admission

According to the provisions of "Membership forms and standards" in Article 2 of the Regulations, VNEA's members include official members, associate members and honorary members.

*Formal members include organization members and individual members. In which, organizational members are organizations with legal status established in accordance with the law of Vietnam operating in the field of elevators, escalators or related to elevators and escalators according to regulations (except for enterprises with foreign elements operating in the field of elevators and escalators specified in Clause 2 of this Article).

*Individual members are Vietnamese citizens aged 18 (eighteen) or older with full civil act capacity, operating in the field of elevators, escalators or fields related to elevators and escalators .

*Associate members, which are foreign-invested or 100% foreign-invested enterprises (hereinafter referred to as enterprises with foreign elements) operating in Vietnam in the field of elevator, escalators or related to elevators, escalators as prescribed by law; have contributed to the development of the Association; endorse the Association's charter; shall be considered and recognized by the Association as an associate member of the Association.

*Honorary member, that is, Vietnamese organizations and citizens who do not have the conditions or are not qualified to become an official member of the Association but have many merits and contributions to and actively participate in the Association's activities are eligible. The Association considers and recognizes as an Honorary Member of the Association

Conditions for admitting members, Article 3 of the Regulation states, admitted members must fully meet the conditions as prescribed.

  1. For members being an organization, it is necessary to meet the standards specified at Point a, Clause 1, Article 2 of this Regulation and the Code of Professional Ethics promulgated by the Association. Candidates operating legally and reputable in Vietnam in the field of elevators, escalators or related to elevators and escalators; Stable and effective operation in the last 2 consecutive financial years at the time of application for admission; Recommended by at least two Executive Committee members; Fully fulfill financial obligations to the State; Strictly abide by the State's policies and laws; Fully satisfy the registration dossier as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 4 of the Regulation,...
  2. For an individual member, the candidate must meet the standards specified at Point b, Clause , Article 2 of the Regulations and regulations in the Code of Professional Ethics promulgated by the Association; At least 02 years of experience in the field of elevators, escalators or related to elevators and escalators; Recommended by at least two Executive Committee members; Have degrees and licenses, operating certificates for cases requiring licenses; Strictly abide by the policies and laws of the State. Rights and obligations of members

Individual members have their legitimate rights and interests protected by the Association in accordance with the law; to be provided with information related to the Association's field of operation by the Association, to participate in activities organized by the Association; to participate in discussions and decisions on the Association's working policies; to propose, propose opinions to the competent authority on issues related to the field of operation of the Association; may attend the General Assembly, stand for election, nominate, elect agencies, leadership positions and the Association Inspection Committee in accordance with the Association regulations,...

Organizational members have the same rights as individual members; to propose a guarantee association in the field of operation (on the basis of collection of guarantee fees); Nominated to participate in brand development programs, research and consulting programs organized by the Association; be considered to introduce cooperation with prestigious domestic and foreign partners,...

Associate members, honorary members enjoy the same benefits as official members, except for the right to vote on matters of the Association and the right to stand for election, nomination, and election of the Board of Directors and the Association Inspection Committee.

Regarding the obligations of members, Article 11 of the Regulation also stipulates that members strictly abide by the guidelines and lines of the Party, policies and laws of the State; comply with the Association's charter and regulations.
