The quality of human resources is the “survival” issue of the elevator industry

Conference “Improving the quality of human resources in Vietnam Elevator Industry” will be held for the first time in the morning of July 13, in Hanoi. This will be an opportunity for state management agencies, the business community, training institutions, and representatives of workers’ organizations to discuss the urgency of improving the quality of human resources for the elevator industry. Vietnam Elevator Association is the host organization of the conference.

Elevator is a product with complex technical characteristics, continuously innovated technology and is a commodity in group 2 (products and goods capable of causing occupational insecurity). Not only technical workers in the elevator industry need complex professional skills, but the working environment with elevators also has many potential risks causing unsafety.

According to QCVN 02:2019/BLDTBXH stipulating the National Technical Regulation on occupational safety for elevators, those who do jobs related to the installation, maintenance and repair of elevators must be knowledgeable about the principles, structure of the elevator, trained in occupational safety and mastered the skills to perform the jobs they perform. However, the professional skills standards for those working in the above-mentioned elevators have not been specified in the current legal documents.

The conference “Improving the quality of human resources in Vietnam Elevator Industry” is the first event of the elevator industry on issues: setting up a training system, evaluating, improving professional quality and ethics for employees workforce, researching and receiving science and technology from abroad, develop supporting industries of the industry to increase labor productivity, build good services and aim to export Vietnam elevators, exporting labor experts to the international market, etc.

Aiming to meet the needs of many parties (management agencies – businesses – employees – training institutions), the Conference will be held with the participation of:

  • Leaders, representatives of state management departments, ministries, agencies.
  • Training units in construction, technical and vocational schools
  • Domestic and foreign organizations, unions and businesses
  • Experts in training and human resource development

This will be an opportunity for all units and subjects related to the elevator industry to speak up, discuss and build directions to improve the quality of human resources in the elevator industry, including the goal develop a set of National Occupational Skills Standards for the elevator industry. This is the basic premise for standardizing the industry’s workforce.
