The Imprint of Vietnam Elevator Training

The Elevator Training Center of the Vietnam Elevator Association is the first nationwide model for training and certifying elevator technicians, established through the cooperation between the Vietnam Elevator Association and Korea Elevator College, the world’s only institution specializing in training elevator engineering.

On March 27, 2025, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Elevator Association (VNEA) officially launched the Elevator Training Center under the Vietnam Institute of Lift Engineering Application (VILEA). This is the first center in Vietnam specializing in training, testing, and granting certificates to the workforce in the elevator industry.

The launch ceremony of the Elevator Training Center was honored to welcome the presence of representatives from government management agencies, including the Department of Employment and the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations (Ministry of Home Affairs); the Department of Vocational Education and Continuous Education (Ministry of Education and Training), along with representatives from elevator enterprises, educational and training institutions, and management and operation units across the nation.

Regarding international guests, there was the presence of Mr. Suh Jae Myung – Vice Chairman of the Korean Chamber of Business in Vietnam (KOCHAM); and Mr. Choi Jun Keun – Vietnam Regional Director of KLC.

According to the cooperation agreement, VNEA is responsible for the facilities, equipment, and training premises by coordinating with universities and colleges nationwide. Meanwhile, KLC provides training materials and programs that meet international standards. Certificates issued by the center will be recognized in South Korea and other countries, opening up job opportunities in the international labor market for trainees.

In the initial phase, VNEA evaluated and partnered with Hanoi High-Tech College as the first training organization base for the Northern region. In the near future, VNEA will continue to expand its cooperation network, coordinating with other universities and colleges to establish training centers in the Central – Southern – Southwestern regions… Starting from March 29, 2025, the Elevator Training Center officially launched its first training course.

With modern facilities, the center is divided into multiple functional areas, including theoretical classrooms and a well-equipped practical area with elevators, installation and maintenance equipment, and models for training purposes.

Under the guidance of leading experts from VNEA and VILEA, trainees not only master knowledge but also develop their thinking, problem-solving, and issue-handling skills.

Students are committed to an income of VND 12,000,000/month after graduation, along with stable job opportunities in VNEA’s elevator service system.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Suh Jae Myung, Vice Chairman of KORCHAM, believes that the Elevator Training Center will become an important bridge between Korean enterprises and high-quality human resources in the elevator sector in Vietnam, further strengthening the sustainable cooperative relationship between Vietnam and South Korea.
He also hopes that the VNEA and KLC joint engineer training program in South Korea will help Vietnam develop a team of experts meeting international standards, thereby enhancing the position of Vietnam’s elevator industry in the global market.

The Launching Ceremony of the Elevator Training Center attracted a large number of elevator businesses, building operation management units, and workers who were interested in and attended the event.

To meet the development demands of the elevator industry, the Association identifies human resource development as a top priority. After graduation, each trainee will be issued an identification code to be used on a digital platform built by the Association, aiming to connect users, technicians, and businesses. This system not only supports users with elevator services but also enables technicians to proactively search for jobs and connect with elevator users nationwide.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc - President of the Vietnam Elevator Association

Currently, about 30,000 new elevators are installed each year, leading to a significant demand for training, assessment, and certification for the elevator industry's workforce. However, until now, Vietnam has lacked a dedicated Elevator Training Center in the true sense. The establishment of this Center marks an important milestone in the professionalization of this field.

Distinguished Teacher, Dr. Pham Xuan Khanh, Principal of Hanoi High Technology College

At the Launch Ceremony, a Cooperation Signing Ceremony took place between the Elevator Training Center and Gama Service – the first Elevator Service Company in Vietnam, and Vietnam Digital Communication and Information Joint Stock Company, in the work of human resource training and professional skill enhancement.
