From July 1st, 2025: Provincial People’s Committees take over quality management of imported elevators and escalators

EM – According to Circular No. 09/2025/TT-BNV on the delineation of authority and decentralization of state management tasks in the field of home affairs, Provincial People’s Committees shall be delegated the authority to manage the quality of imported products and goods that are potentially hazardous, including elevators, escalators, and safety devices.

Elevator prices may rise by 63M VND under Circular 13 and Decision 496 from the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social

EM – The new regulation abolishing the recognition of elevator test results from abroad, which takes effect from 1st February, 2025, is putting businesses in a difficult position, as each elevator unit is expected to bear an additional testing cost of at least 63 million VND. Furthermore, the test results are only valid for each shipment and cannot be applied on a mass scale or for a set duration.
